Also on my visit to Paris, i decided to visit the Rodin museum. i chose to go here because it focus' mainly on sculpture. Although i am interested in natural form and Rodin's work is mainly human form i still felt that the way in which the sculptures are made and the detail in them would hold some relevance to my art.
i looked colsely at ' the gates to hell' as the detail in the scuplture is so defined and precise. the way in which rodin carved the marble to create the layers and folds, especially in the colothes of the figures is very interesting. it creates an interesting texture and i liked the way it felt and looked; creating shadow and ares of light.
Watch your spelling a bit Holly! colothes / ares! JM
